Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) This organization will provide you with referrals to therapists who have completed approved training in EMDR in specific geographical areas, information on Level I and II training for licensed therapists and interns, and sets criteria for certification and approved consultant status. The website also provides general information about EMDR and answers useful questions and answers about its uses and effectiveness. Erickson Foundation The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) International Society of Hypnosis (ISH) These four groups are the main professional hypnosis groups inside the U.S. and abroad. They can help you locate a therapist referral in a specific geographical area, provide information about trainings and workshops if you are a therapist or health professional, and answer general questions about hypnosis. The Erickson Foundation is devoted to the study of Ericksonian hypnosis and psychotherapy; the other three groups are more oriented to clinical applications of formal hypnosis and scientific research efforts. ASCH is the best source of information about training in Ego-State Therapy and about therapists who use this approach. It also offers a certification program accredited by the American Pschological Association. Books and tapes on imagery for self-healing can be purchased through the Imagery Store at (800) 726-2070. Roger Callahan, Ph.D. Callahan Techniques provides referrals to therapists trained in TFT, updated information about approved training workshops nationwide, and access to a printed newsletter. The website gives extensive information about the uses of TFT and access to numerous case reports of its effectiveness. Fred Gallo, Ph.D. Dr. Gallo developed the Level I and Level II workshops in TFT. He has been a pioneer in energy psychology methods and has developed his own model, which is called Energy Diagnostic and Treatment Methods (EDxTM). His website offers excellent information about energy psychology. The site also describes EDxTM, which is based on TFT but more sophisticated in diagnosis, and gives access to Dr. Gallo's training schedule. Gary Craig, the originator, has streamlined Callahan's TFT protocols into one general tapping protocol that he believes can be used for most symptoms. The general training program, consisting of manuals, audio and video cassettes can be ordered through the website or by phone or fax through the office. The website offers extensive anecdotal information, clinical cases, and an almost daily email newsletter from Gary Craig. Peter Levine, Ph.D. This organization offers books, pamphlets, and articles on Somatic Experiencing. The website and office provide referrals to SE practitioners, schedules of training worldwide, and helpful information about the SE model.
